Bio

Christine Barker is an artist and photographer from Southern California who is drawn to forsaken landscapes, industrial environments, and decayed, desolate dwellings. The themes in her work explore mental health, the impact of humans on the natural world, and escapism from the structures imposed by society. After graduating from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, with a degree in Business Management, Christine focused her creativity on photography and started her practice in 2017. New skills were learned in foundational photography courses at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California and contributed to her growth as an artist. Her projects have included a range of work from conceptual photography to natural landscape settings, and unexpected beauty in lonely places.
